AC Milan are one of the most decorated clubs in world football, with seven European Cups, a record surpassed only by Real Madrid. Founded in 1899 by English and Italian enthusiasts, the Rossoneri share San Siro with city rivals Inter, a rivalry known as the Derby della Madonnina. The club's golden eras under Arrigo Sacchi and Fabio Capello produced some of the greatest teams ever assembled, built around Dutch stars Van Basten, Gullit and Rijkaard and Italian defenders Baresi and Maldini. Milan won their 19th Serie A title in 2021/22.
