Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data SCN collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it. We collect as little as possible and never sell it.

Who we are

Sports Culture Network is operated by Hypers Limited, a King Bygone’s Media Initiative. We are the data controller for all personal data processed through this website.

Data we collect

  • Newsletter subscribers: We collect your email address when you subscribe to the SCN newsletter. We use it solely to send the newsletter and service messages related to it. We do not add subscribers to third-party marketing lists.
  • Analytics data: With your consent, we collect anonymised usage data via Google Analytics 4, including pages visited, time on site, general geographic region, and device type. This data does not identify you personally and is used purely to improve our editorial decisions.
  • Contact form and email: When you email us or use a contact form, we keep your message and contact details to respond to and record the correspondence.

How we use your data

  • To send you the newsletter you subscribed to (lawful basis: contract).
  • To understand how our content is used so we can improve it (lawful basis: legitimate interest and consent, where applicable).
  • To respond to editorial, commercial, and data enquiries (lawful basis: legitimate interest).

Data retention

Newsletter subscriber data is kept for as long as you remain subscribed, plus 30 days after unsubscription to process the removal. Analytics data is retained in line with Google Analytics 4 default retention periods. Correspondence is kept for up to two years.

Third parties

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks. The only third parties who receive data are those necessary to operate our services: our email delivery provider (for newsletter dispatch) and Google Analytics (analytics, with your consent). We have data processing agreements in place with each.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing or request portability of your data. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@sportculturenetwork.com. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email.
