Mike Maignan was born in Cayenne, French Guiana, and came through Paris Saint-Germain’s academy before joining Lille in 2015. He became Lille’s first-choice goalkeeper and won Ligue 1 in 2020/21, conceding the fewest goals in the league.
AC Milan signed him in 2021 to replace Gianluigi Donnarumma, and he immediately helped Milan win Serie A in 2021/22, their first title in 11 years. He is known for his shot-stopping, his long, accurate distribution and his leadership, and he has since been made captain.
Maignan is France’s first-choice goalkeeper.
