Raphinha and Kylian Mbappe are level at the top of Europe’s goals and assists standings after the opening weeks of the 2026-27 season, with both players on nine combined contributions. The Barcelona forward has six goals and three assists, while the Real Madrid captain has seven goals and two assists. No player in Europe’s top five leagues has scored more than Mbappe’s seven league goals.
The pair are separated at the top of the table by the superior goal contribution per minute ratio, which places Raphinha first. Mbappe scored his seventh of the season in Real Madrid’s 3-2 win over Elche before assisting Carlos Espi’s injury-time winner. Earlier this month, Mbappe made his case for individual honours clear. “I always think I’m the best [player in the world] but everyone has their own opinion,” he said.
Barcelona moved Raphinha into the striker role after selling Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres in the summer. Their attempts to sign Julian Alvarez as a replacement fell through, but the early signs are that the Brazilian has made the position his own. He has already built a strong understanding with Lamine Yamal, while summer arrivals Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi have started brightly. If Raphinha and Mbappe keep up their current output, La Liga could be in for a serious title race.
The standings are dominated by La Liga. Eight of the top 10 players on the list play their football in Spain, a reflection of the early-season form across Barcelona, Real Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, Espanyol and Alaves.
Sergio Camello sits third on seven combined goals and assists, with six goals and one assist for Rayo Vallecano. The 25-year-old has matched his best-ever league tally in his fifth season at the club. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is fourth, also on seven contributions, with five goals and two assists. The 37-year-old is the only player in Europe to have scored in every league outing this season, and the first to score in the first five matches of a La Liga campaign since Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2009. Aubameyang spent two years in the Saudi Pro League before returning to Spain, and his form at this stage of his career has been a surprise.
Donyell Malen is fifth on six goals and zero assists for Roma, who sit top of Serie A. The Netherlands international has 21 goals in 25 appearances since joining in January. His goal every 42 minutes this season is the best rate in the top 10.
Mariano Diaz is sixth on three goals and three assists for Alaves. The one-time Real Madrid forward has already bettered his combined league goals and assists total for the last seven seasons. He managed three goals and one assist between 2019 and 2026.
Chelsea’s Joao Pedro is the only Premier League player in the top 10, sitting seventh on three goals and three assists. The Brazilian has scored and assisted in three of his four appearances, drawing a blank only against Arsenal. He is building a promising partnership with Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer.
Fermin Lopez is eighth on four goals and two assists for Barcelona. The midfielder has started the season strongly after missing Spain’s World Cup triumph through injury. Lamine Yamal is ninth, with six goals and no assists in La Liga, though he did set up two goals in Barcelona’s Champions League win over Feyenoord. Yamal’s career record at Barcelona stands at 56 goals and 54 assists.
Espanyol’s Roberto Fernandez completes the top 10 on six goals. The 24-year-old scored twice in a 4-0 win over Levante on the opening day and has added strikes against Real Sociedad, Osasuna and Rayo Vallecano. Espanyol manager Manolo Gonzalez has joked about the striker’s form. “If he achieves this goals-per-game average, next year he’ll be at Manchester City!” he said. Whether Fernandez makes Spain’s squad for the upcoming Nations League games remains to be seen.
