Chelsea were founded in 1905 and have played at Stamford Bridge in west London ever since. After decades of occasional success, the club was transformed by Roman Abramovich's takeover in 2003, winning five Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2012 and 2021. Under the ownership group led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, Chelsea invested heavily in young players and won the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2025. Xabi Alonso became manager in July 2026.
