FC Barcelona were founded in 1899 by a group led by Swiss businessman Joan Gamper and have become a symbol of Catalan identity, summed up in the motto 'Més que un club' - more than a club. Barça have won five European Cups and more than 25 Spanish titles. The club's La Masia academy produced the core of Pep Guardiola's great teams, including Lionel Messi, Xavi and Andrés Iniesta, and more recently Lamine Yamal and Pedri. Under Hansi Flick, Barcelona won La Liga and the Copa del Rey in 2024/25.
