Karim Adeyemi grew up in Munich and was released by Bayern Munich’s academy as a child. He rebuilt at Unterhaching and then Red Bull Salzburg, where he became one of Austria’s most exciting players.
Borussia Dortmund signed him in 2022, and he played in the 2024 Champions League final. He is known for his speed.
Barcelona signed him in July 2026. Adeyemi has been capped by Germany.
Playing style
Adeyemi is one of the fastest players in European football. He attacks space in behind defences, and his acceleration makes him dangerous on the counter-attack. He can play on either wing or as a striker, and he has become a more complete player at Dortmund, improving his decision-making and finishing. Injuries interrupted parts of his career in Germany, but when fit he is a real threat.
International career
Adeyemi made his Germany debut in 2021 and scored on his debut against Armenia. He has been part of several squads since.
Career in numbers
Since his first senior season in 2018/19, Adeyemi has made 283 club appearances and scored 87 goals in all competitions for 4 clubs. The 2021/22 season, with 23 goals from 44 matches for Red Bull Salzburg, remains his highest tally. So far in 2026/27 he has 3 goals in 8 appearances for Barcelona.
