Real Betis were founded in Seville in 1907 and share one of Spain's most passionate rivalries with Sevilla. Betis won La Liga in 1935 and the Copa del Rey in 1977, 2005 and 2022. Under Manuel Pellegrini the club became a regular in European competition and reached the 2025 UEFA Conference League final. The Estadio Benito Villamarín, one of Spain's largest grounds, is known for its green-and-white atmosphere.
