Pedro Neto grew up in Viana do Castelo in northern Portugal and came through Braga’s academy. He moved to Lazio in 2017 and then to Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2019.
At Wolves he became one of the Premier League’s most dangerous wingers, fast and direct with his left foot, though injuries interrupted several seasons. Chelsea signed him in 2024 for around Β£54 million.
Neto played an important role in Chelsea’s 2025 Conference League and Club World Cup wins, and he won the UEFA Nations League with Portugal in 2025.
Playing style
Neto is a quick, direct winger who is dangerous with the ball at his feet. He is left-footed but can play on either flank: on the right he cuts inside to shoot, while on the left he drives to the byline and crosses. His crossing is one of the best in the Premier League, and he creates a large number of chances for team-mates. He also works hard out of possession, pressing full-backs and tracking back. Injuries interrupted several of his seasons at Wolves, but his move to Chelsea gave him a bigger stage, and he played a key role in the 2025 Club World Cup win.
International career
Neto has been part of Portugal’s senior squad since 2021 and was included in the squad for Euro 2024. He won the UEFA Nations League with Portugal in 2025, beating Spain in the final.
Career in numbers
Since his first senior season in 2016/17, Neto has made 253 club appearances and scored 36 goals in all competitions for 4 clubs. His most productive season in front of goal was 2025/26, when he scored 10 times in 52 games for Chelsea. So far in 2026/27 he has 2 goals in 7 appearances for Chelsea.
