FC Cincinnati began in the second-tier USL in 2016, drawing record crowds, and joined MLS in 2019. After finishing bottom of the league in their first three seasons, the club was transformed under general manager Chris Albright and coach Pat Noonan, winning the Supporters' Shield in 2023. Cincinnati play at TQL Stadium, which opened in 2021.
