Los Angeles FC joined MLS in 2018 and quickly became one of the league's best-supported and most successful clubs. LAFC won the Supporters' Shield in 2019 and 2022 and the MLS Cup in 2022, with Gareth Bale scoring a dramatic late equaliser in the final. The club plays at BMO Stadium near downtown Los Angeles, and its signings have included Carlos Vela, Hugo Lloris and Son Heung-min.
