Charlotte FC joined MLS as an expansion team in 2022 and set a league attendance record with more than 74,000 fans at their first home match at Bank of America Stadium, which they share with the NFL's Carolina Panthers. The club has grown steadily and established itself as a play-off contender in the Eastern Conference.
