He joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2022 and has become a key part of Luis Enrique’s midfield, combining with Vitinha and João Neves. He won the Champions League with PSG in 2025.
For Spain, Ruiz was one of the stand-out performers at Euro 2024, scoring twice as Spain won the tournament, and he had already won the 2023 UEFA Nations League. He also won the European Under-21 Championship in 2019.
Playing style
Ruiz is an elegant, left-footed midfielder with an excellent passing range and a powerful shot. He is tall for a midfielder and uses his body well to shield the ball. His calmness under pressure and ability to switch play make him an important part of Luis Enrique’s system.
