Axel Sola submitted Ismael Bonfim with a D'Arce choke just 4:44 into the first round of their welterweight bout at UFC Fight Night 282 in Abu Dhabi.
After a tough loss to Mason Jones in March, Sola rebounded with a dominant grappling display against Bonfim.
Sola manipulated Bonfim through a series of positions before locking in the D'Arce choke for the tap.
In the post-fight interview, Sola credited his opponent's exhaustion and the damage he inflicted before the finish.
"I'm very happy to be here," Sola told Daniel Cormier. "He was tired. He took a lot of elbows, so I'm very happy to get the finish in the first round."
Sola's second career submission was a welcome bounce-back from his Fight of the Year contender loss earlier this year.
Bonfim, meanwhile, fell to 2-4 in the UFC.
The UFC Fight Night 282 results saw Axel Sola and Magomed Tuchalov both earn victories.
Sola's win marked his second in the UFC, while Tuchalov improved his record to 2-1 in the promotion.
The event featured a total of five fights, with Nurullo Aliev and Abdul Hussein also picking up wins.
