T Natarajan back with Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 5 crore in swap deal with Zeeshan Ansari to Delhi Capitals

Sunrisers Hyderabad have reacquired left-arm pacer T Natarajan in a swap deal with Delhi Capitals ahead of the upcoming IPL season. The trade sees Natarajan return to the franchise where he made his name, while leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari moves to Delhi Capitals.

Natarajan had joined Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 auction for INR 10.75 crore after an impressive run with Sunrisers Hyderabad. During his previous stint with SRH, he was their leading Indian pace bowler, taking 19 wickets in the 2024 season and helping the team reach the final. His departure to Delhi last year was notable, but the revised deal has brought him back to Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 5 crore.

This swap deal is expected to strengthen SRH’s pace attack. Natarajan’s ability to bowl left-arm pace and deliver in the death overs adds experience and variety to their bowling lineup. His previous performances have shown he can deliver under pressure, something SRH will look to exploit as they prepare for the new season.

In exchange, leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari will join Delhi Capitals. Ansari played 10 matches for SRH during IPL 2025, taking six wickets, including a standout debut performance against Delhi Capitals where he claimed three wickets. The 26-year-old impressed as a promising spin option during his time with Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Ansari remains on his existing fee of INR 40 lakh with Delhi Capitals. The move is likely to provide the Capitals with more options in their spin department, adding depth alongside their existing bowlers. His arrival follows a season where he showed glimpses of potential in the middle overs.

The trade concludes a direct player exchange between two franchises focused on balancing their bowling resources. Natarajan’s return to Sunrisers Hyderabad and Ansari’s switch to Delhi Capitals were confirmed by the respective teams. Both players will now prepare to integrate into their new squads ahead of the IPL season’s start.
