Santos and Bouzat Fire Dynamo Past Sporting KC in Shutout Win

The Houston Dynamo secured a crucial 2-0 win over Sporting KC on Saturday, with Guilherme Santos and Agustín Bouzat finding the back of the net.

Santos became the ninth player in MLS history to score or assist on at least 17 of his club's first 25 goals in a season when he netted the first goal of the night in the 55th minute. His outside-the-box shot found the back of the net with an expected goal of 3%, giving the Dynamo the lead they would not relinquish.

The Dynamo extended their unbeaten streak to five games with the shutout win, thanks in part to four saves from goalkeeper Jonathan Bond.

Houston's victory has them sitting in fourth place in the Western Conference, two points up on Real Salt Lake. The team will look to build on this momentum when they host the New England Revolution on Saturday.

The Dynamo's performance was marked by clinical finishing and a solid defensive effort, which kept Sporting KC off the board throughout the match.

Sporting KC will have two weeks off before returning to action, when they host the Colorado Rapids on August 15. The break will give them a chance to regroup and recharge ahead of their next match.

The Dynamo's victory is a significant one, as it keeps them in contention for a top-four spot in the Western Conference. With the team's next match just around the corner, they will look to continue their winning ways.
