The 49ers are set to sign veteran edge rusher Ogbo Okoronkwo on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Okoronkwo, a 31-year-old defensive specialist, joins San Francisco after a season with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he suffered a torn triceps in his only game and went on injured reserve.
He has a familiar connection to the 49ers' coaching staff, having played under defensive coordinator Raheem Morris with the Los Angeles Rams, who won Super Bowl LVI in 2021.
As a fifth-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft, Okoronkwo has appeared in 81 games, starting 13 times, and recorded 17.0 sacks, 31 tackles for loss, and 38 quarterback hits.
