Conference Championship Showdown: Can the Reigning Champions Defend Their Title Against the Northern Lights?

The Tulsa Oilers will face off against the top-seeded Green Bay Blizzard in the conference championship on Sunday, with the winner advancing to the IFL National Championship on August 16.

The Green Bay Blizzard will be back on their home turf, looking to dispatch the No. 3 Tulsa Oilers en route to the championship game. The Blizzard secured a dominant 73-59 win over the Orlando Pirates in the first round of the playoffs last weekend.

In their only matchup during the regular season, the Blizzard beat the Oilers 41-35 on May 16. Both teams boast members of the newly announced All-Rookie Team โ€” RB Kairee Robinson (Green Bay) and DB Justin Harrington (Tulsa).

The Tulsa Oilers, meanwhile, upset the No. 2 Jacksonville Sharks last Saturday in a close one, 31-28. This win marked a major upset in the playoffs, as the Oilers were not expected to take down the Sharks.

The conference championships are set as the road to Tucson continues. The top-seeded Green Bay Blizzard will host the No. 3 Tulsa Oilers on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET, with the winner advancing to the IFL National Championship on August 16.

All postseason games will be broadcast nationally for free on Yahoo Sports Network for the first time after a historic regular season that saw the IFL surpass 4.5 million total streams and more than 30.6 million minutes watched on YSN.

The Arizona Rattlers, who knocked off the reigning champ Vegas Knight Hawks last week, will face the No. 1 San Diego Strike Force in the other conference championship game. The Strike Force will be looking for their first IFL championship, and they have solid momentum, having beaten the Tucson Sugar Skulls in the first round.

As the Strike Force look for their first IFL championship, they're taking a one-game-at-a-time approach. Quarterback Nate Davis said before last week's game, "It all comes down to that you've been playing football all your life. It's just another game. You have to go out there and do your job. You don't need to put more pressure on yourself just because it's a playoff game. It's still another football game that you've been doing all your life, so you just go out there and do what you're supposed to and we'll be totally fine."

The playoffs wrap up with the IFL National Championship on Sunday, August 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the Tucson Convention Center in Tucson, Arizona. Fans can watch every 2026 IFL Playoff game free on Yahoo Sports Network via leading FAST services, including Amazon Fire TV, Fubo, LG Channels, Plex Prime Video, Roku, Samsung TV Plus, Google TV Freeplay, Xfinity, and VIDAA.
