Kaden Honeycutt leads NASCAR Truck Series chase at Talladega with race on FS1 Friday

Kaden Honeycutt holds a 39-point lead in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series standings as the championship chase rolls into the Love's RV Stop 225 at Talladega Superspeedway on Friday. After clinching victory at Phoenix Raceway last week, Honeycutt has extended his advantage with three races remaining in the season.

The 85-lap, 225-mile race at Talladega, a 2.66-mile superspeedway in Alabama, will begin around 4 p.m. Eastern (3 p.m. Central) and will air live on FOX Sports 1. Fans can also follow the action via the NASCAR Racing Network Radio or stream it on FUBO, which offers a free trial, with audio available through NASCAR.com and SiriusXM subscriptions.

Honeycutt's nearest rival in the points is Layne Riggs, who trails by 112 points. Riggs is the only other driver within striking distance of the lead, making the upcoming races critical for the championship battle. Both drivers have recorded multiple wins this season, with Honeycutt posting victories at Watkins Glen, Richmond, Kansas, and Phoenix, while Riggs has taken the checkered flag at St. Petersburg, Charlotte, Nashville, and Martinsville.

The race at Talladega is divided into three stages of 20, 25, and 40 laps, respectively. The high-speed nature of the superspeedway typically produces close racing and unpredictable results, which could influence the championship standings significantly.

This season has seen a variety of winners across the Truck Series schedule, featuring names like Corey Heim, Chandler Smith, Kyle Busch, and Layne Riggs. Honeycutt’s consistent performance in the final stretch has allowed him to build a comfortable cushion in the chase.

Following Talladega, the schedule includes the Slim Jim 200 at Martinsville Speedway on October 30 and the Baptist Health 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 6. Both events will also be broadcast on FS1, maintaining national television coverage through the conclusion of the season.

The Love's RV Stop 225 will provide another test for Honeycutt’s championship credentials as he aims to maintain his lead in a highly competitive field. Meanwhile, Riggs and other contenders will seek to close the gap before the season finale.
