Lamar Jackson missed the Baltimore Ravens’ Wednesday practice ahead of their Sunday game against the Cleveland Browns, with head coach Jesse Minter describing the quarterback’s status as “day-to-day.” Jackson is still recovering from an ankle injury sustained two weeks ago in a win over the Tennessee Titans.
“He’s definitely day-to-day. I think a lot of the time with those things, right when they happen, you’re not sure, and as you gather information, you look at stuff. Again, to Lamar’s credit, he’s working his butt off. He’s doing everything he can to be out here, and when he’s able to be, then he will,” Minter said, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN on X.
Jackson’s absence from practice continues a cautious approach from the Ravens as they manage his recovery. Over the weekend, Baltimore secured a 4-1 record with an overtime road victory against the Atlanta Falcons. Tyler Huntley started at quarterback for that game, stepping in while Jackson recuperates.
The Ravens leaned heavily on Derrick Henry and their running game during Sunday night’s matchup. Huntley delivered a key drive late in regulation that pushed the game into overtime, where Baltimore eventually secured the win. Jackson had been off to a strong start in 2026 before the injury, with the team nearly perfect at 4-1, having only lost a lead once against the New Orleans Saints.
Jackson’s injury management is especially important given last season’s hamstring issues which disrupted his play. The Ravens appear committed to ensuring he returns fully fit rather than rushing him back prematurely.
Baltimore will face Cleveland at 1:00 pm ET on Sunday, with Jackson’s participation still uncertain. The team will continue to monitor his progress closely as game day approaches.
