Four teams are on bye in Week 6, leaving fantasy managers scrambling for kicker options. The Bengals, Vikings, Lions and Dolphins all sit out, and with Justin Boone’s latest column offering fresh advice, several streamers stand out for the weekend’s matchups.
Harrison Mevis of the Rams is a solid pick against the Cardinals. He has converted five of seven field goals this season, including three from 40 to 49 yards. Facing a Cardinals defense that has struggled recently, the Rams should generate enough scoring chances to keep Mevis busy. His consistency gives him a high floor for fantasy points, especially with the Rams expected to put up multiple touchdowns.
Eddy Pineiro of the 49ers is another option with a favorable matchup. San Francisco hosts the Washington Commanders, a team allowing the third-most fantasy points to kickers so far this season. The 49ers are favored by more than a touchdown and should enter the red zone often, providing Pineiro multiple scoring opportunities.
The Giants’ kicker Dominic Zvada is available in most leagues and presents an intriguing choice against the Saints. New York’s offense has shown inconsistency, particularly running the ball, and Jameis Winston’s presence at quarterback has not solidified their red-zone efficiency. This could translate into more field goal attempts for Zvada, who has scored at least 12 fantasy points in each of the last three games.
Other names to consider include Chris Boswell of the Steelers, who faces Tampa Bay, and Harrison Butker of the Chiefs, who plays the Chargers. Both have lower roster percentages but face defenses that could allow scoring chances.
Among the top rostered kickers, Mevis is owned in 49% of leagues, Pineiro in 48%, Boswell 18%, and Butker 17%. Zvada remains under the radar at 4%, making him a sleeper pick for managers needing a replacement kicker this week.
With Reichard and Bates both unavailable this week, Boone’s recommendations provide a clear path for those adjusting lineups. Scoring opportunities often come down to matchups, and these kickers have the best chances to capitalize on Week 6’s slate.
