Daniel Jones Confident in Recovery Ahead of Week 1
Colts quarterback Daniel Jones said he's feeling "really good" and is good to go for training camp, with no restrictions for the team's first practice on Wednesday.
Jones tore his right Achilles tendon during a Week 14 loss to the Jaguars last season. He returned to individual drills and 7-on-7 during the mandatory minicamp but was held out of team drills.
"I'm feeling good, feeling good. Plan is to be back in 11-on-11, full team drills Wednesday when we start up practice and be out there with the guys," Jones told Pat McAfee on Monday. "Rehab has been good to this point. I still have some work to do as we get ready for Week 1, but I feel really good with where I am."
Jones has repeatedly said he expects to play Week 1 against the Ravens, and he reiterated that Monday. He's working towards full recovery ahead of the team's season opener.
Jones's confidence in his recovery comes after a long period of rehabilitation. "I'm in a really good spot. I can do everything. There's nothing that I can't do," Jones said Monday.
While some players may take their time to get back to full strength, Jones is looking to make a swift return. He's been working hard in rehab and is optimistic about his chances of playing in Week 1.
The Colts will start their training camp on Wednesday, with Jones set to participate in 11-on-11 drills for the first time since his injury. The team will be closely monitoring his progress as he gets back to full fitness.
Jones's return will be a welcome boost for the Colts, who are looking to make a strong start to the season. The team's fans will be eager to see their quarterback back on the field, and Jones's confidence in his recovery will only add to their excitement.
The next few weeks will be crucial for Jones as he works towards full recovery. He'll need to continue to progress and show no signs of setback before he's cleared to play in Week 1.
