RC Strasbourg Alsace were founded in 1906 and won the French title in 1979. After financial collapse in 2011, the club was relegated to the fifth tier and rebuilt from the bottom, returning to Ligue 1 in 2017 and winning the Coupe de la Ligue in 2019. Since 2023 Strasbourg have been owned by BlueCo, the group behind Chelsea, and have built one of the youngest squads in Europe. They play at the Stade de la Meinau.
