Fenerbahce have pulled off the biggest summer transfer in the Super Lig so far, signing Mason Greenwood from Marseille for €39 million.
Galatasaray will once again be one of the title favourites ahead of the new campaign as they strive to win their fifth consecutive championship. However, Fenerbahce have made several other noteworthy additions to their squad, including Kosovan international forward Vedat Muriqi and defender Nathan Ake.
Muriqi finished last season as La Liga's second-highest goalscorer with 23 goals, and he could be a good bet to top the scoring charts in Turkey this season. Ake joins Fenerbahce following a hugely successful six-year spell with Manchester City.
Fenerbahce will undoubtedly fancy their chances of overhauling Galatasaray this season, but will face stiff competition from elsewhere. Besiktas have boosted their squad with several shrewd summer signings, including midfielder Orkun Kokco and winger Leandro Trossard, who has signed from Arsenal.
However, Trabzonspor could ultimately prove to be the biggest threat to Galatasaray and Fenerbahce in the Super Lig title race. They finished eight points adrift of top spot last term, but could mount a more sustained challenge in this season's title race.
Trabzonspor have signed former Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, the 34-year-old Egyptian international was linked with moves to the Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer, but has completed an unlikely move to Turkey. Salah is Trabzonspor's biggest-ever signing, and the hysteria around his arrival may transform the landscape in Turkish football.
The Egyptian international will offer huge commercial upside to Trabzonspor and could potentially help them upset the established order in the Super Lig. With the likes of Greenwood and Salah set to lead the charge, the title race is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in recent memory.
The biggest question now is whether Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor can overcome the might of Galatasaray, who will be looking to make it five consecutive championships. With the Super Lig season just around the corner, fans in Turkey are in for a treat as the battle for supremacy heats up.
