Broncos' Nik Bonitto Set for Potential Return as Jaylen Waddle's Injury Timeline Unclear
Broncos outside linebacker Nik Bonitto has made a notable return to practice, while wide receiver Jaylen Waddle's injury timeline remains uncertain.
The Broncos' injury woes continue with defensive lineman Matt Henningsen carted off the field during Friday's practice after rupturing his Achilles, a similar injury he suffered last summer. The severity of Henningsen's injury is not yet known.
Wide receiver Marvin Mims pulled up on a deep route during practice and was seen tossing his helmet in frustration. Mims was also looked at by trainers the previous day and went into the locker room with tight end Nate Adkins.
Broncos coach Sean Payton has not made any official statements regarding Mims' injury. However, Payton did mention earlier that he expects Waddle to be sidelined for 4-5 days.
Waddle was spotted jogging before practice, a positive sign that he is moving around better than the previous day. However, he still hasn't returned to practice.
Five other players did not practice: center Luke Wattenberg, cornerback Jaden Robinson, outside linebacker Dasan McCullough, cornerback Sean Fresch, and tight end Caleb Lohner, who is dealing with a knee issue.
Receiver Courtland Sutton was back in action Friday after taking three veteran rest days. The Broncos also gave rest days to left tackle Garett Bolles, defensive lineman Malcolm Roach, nose tackle D.J. Jones, and linebacker Alex Singleton.
The Broncos have one more practice scheduled for Saturday before a day off on Sunday. The team's injury report will likely be updated after Saturday's practice, providing more clarity on the status of the injured players.
