AZ striker Troy Parrott is reportedly being tracked by several European clubs after a brilliant personal season in Alkmaar, where he scored 31 goals and registered 10 assists in all competitions last term.
After a season that saw the Irish international net 16 goals in 28 Eredivisie games and 10 goals in 15 Europa Conference League outings, several clubs are now eyeing Parrott.
Real Betis in La Liga and Como in Serie A are reportedly watching the 24-year-old striker, while Eredivisie champions PSV are also said to have inquired about Parrott. However, the amount AZ is demanding appears to be higher than what the Philips Stadion residents are willing to pay.
PSV's interest in Parrott comes as no surprise, given the striker's impressive form last season. However, the club's willingness to meet AZ's asking price remains to be seen. The current record for a transfer fee in the Eredivisie is held by Tijjani Reijnders, who moved to AC Milan for nearly 25 million euros.
AZ had hoped to receive a record fee for Parrott in January, but the transfer window has now passed. The club had also been prepared for bids earlier this summer, such that Groningen's Thom van Bergen was highlighted as a potential Parrott replacement.
Troy Parrott's future at AZ is now uncertain, with several clubs vying for his signature. Meanwhile, Ajax had also been linked with a move for Parrott, but their interest was reportedly dashed after signing Tolu Arokodare from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Parrott is under contract in Alkmaar until 2029, and AZ hopes to receive a large fee for the striker. With several clubs now in the running, the transfer saga surrounding Parrott is likely to continue for several weeks yet.
As the transfer window continues to unfold, one thing is certain: Troy Parrott's future will be decided soon.
