Miami Dolphins Sign Veteran Defensive End Clelin Ferrell
The Miami Dolphins have made a significant addition to their pass-rushing unit, signing veteran defensive end Clelin Ferrell on Monday.
Ferrell, the #4 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, joins a Dolphins team that has been rebuilding its roster over the past year. The 28-year-old has a proven track record, totaling 27 sacks in 45 games played during his time at Clemson.
Ferrell has played for several teams in his seven-year NFL career, including the Las Vegas Raiders, Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Chargers, and San Francisco 49ers. In his most recent stint with the 49ers, he appeared in eight games.
In his entire seven-year career, Ferrell has 21 sacks, 184 combined tackles, 29 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
Ferrell joins a Dolphins pass-rushing group that includes Chop Robinson, Josh Uche, and David Ojabo, among others. The signing is expected to boost the team's defensive line, which has been a key area of focus during the offseason.
Veteran training camp for the Dolphins begins today, and the team will look to integrate Ferrell into their system quickly. The signing of Ferrell marks a significant move for the Dolphins, who are looking to improve their chances of making a playoff push in the coming season.
