Nick Minicucci leads Delaware to 61-38 win over Missouri State, ending three-game losing streak

Nick Minicucci returned from injury to throw five touchdowns and run for another, leading Delaware to a 61-38 victory over Missouri State on Tuesday night and snapping a three-game losing streak. The Blue Hens scored 30 unanswered points in the second half to overturn a 28-24 halftime deficit.

Delaware’s momentum shifted early in the third quarter when Bryson Graves returned the kickoff 42 yards, setting up Jo Silver’s 12-yard touchdown reception that put the Blue Hens ahead. Minicucci then capitalised on a Missouri State fumble deep in Bears territory by running in a short touchdown on fourth-and-goal, extending the lead to 45-35.

Missouri State turned the ball over twice more through interceptions on their next two drives, and Delaware converted those mistakes into 13 points. The Blue Hens finished with 20 points off turnovers, a significant boost after scoring only 69 points combined over their previous four games.

Minicucci completed 20 of 29 passes with one interception. Silver contributed 101 yards on 13 carries and caught a touchdown pass, marking his second career game with multiple touchdowns. Delaware improved to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in Conference USA.

Missouri State’s Isaiah Myers set the tone early with a standout performance, amassing 242 yards receiving, the highest total in an FBS game this season. He caught nine passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns in the first half, finishing with 11 receptions. Quarterback Henry Belin IV, making his second start, completed 26 of 35 passes for 337 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Jmariyae Robinson caught 10 passes for 85 yards, while Connor Lair rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns.

The game was the first meeting between Delaware and Missouri State since both programs moved to the FBS level and joined Conference USA in 2025. Missouri State fell to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Delaware will travel to Western Kentucky for their next game on October 27, while Missouri State returns home to face Sam Houston on the same day.
