The octagon is set for a thrilling showdown in Abu Dhabi this weekend as No. 2 ranked light heavyweight Magomed Ankalaev faces off against No. 9 ranked Bogdan Guskov in the headlining bout of UFC Fight Night: Ankalaev vs. Guskov.
The event marks the promotion's 23rd visit to the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Ankalaev was originally scheduled to face former title challenger Khalil Rountree Jr., but he was forced out of the bout due to injury two weeks before fight night.
Guskov stepped up as a replacement, having been scheduled to compete a week later at UFC Fight Night 283 in Serbia. The change in opponent has not seemed to faze Ankalaev, who remains focused on his title ambitions.
The event will be broadcast live on Paramount+, with the first fighter expected to be on the scales at 1 a.m. ET. Fans can stay up to date with the latest weights on the UFC Abu Dhabi Official Weigh-In Results page.
The main card features a number of exciting matchups, including Steve Erceg vs. Ramazonbek Temirov and Islam Dulatov vs. Wellington Turman. Magomed Zaynukov and Damian Rzepecki will also face off in a light heavyweight bout.
Rizvan Kuniev and Tyrell Fortune will compete in a heavyweight bout, while Abubakar Vagaev takes on Saygid Izagakhmaev in a welterweight matchup. The preliminary card features a number of up-and-coming fighters, including Valter Walker and Thomas Petersen.
The event promises to be an exciting one, with a number of talented fighters looking to make a name for themselves in the UFC.
