Goiás Youth Team Clinches Brasileirão Sub-20 B Title in Thrilling Fashion
Goiás celebrated their Brasileirão Sub-20 B title after a thrilling 1-1 draw with Ceará, which they won 11-10 on penalties.

"Two great teams reached this final, and Ceará fully deserved everything they achieved, but this title crowns many years of work here at Goiás, developing our players."
Goiás have been working hard to develop their young players, with around 10 to 12 academy players regularly featuring in the first-team squad. This dedication has paid off, with the team securing their first Brasileirão Sub-20 B title.
Ceará, meanwhile, finished as runners-up undefeated, with eight wins and two draws. The acting president of the Ceará Football Federation, Mauro Neto, praised the CBF's investment in youth competitions and highlighted Ceará's promotion to the Série A of the Brasileirão U-20.
Ceará's Vozão team has been impressive, and their promotion to the Série A is a testament to their hard work and dedication. The team's manager, Gabriel Carvalho, reflected on the match and praised Goiás for their performance. "It really was a very difficult match," he said. "First, I want to congratulate Ceará, who were runners-up without losing a single game, but Goiás deserve a lot of credit for coming here and facing a much more experienced opponent."
Goiás' victory was also a personal triumph for scorer Hallerrandrio, who dedicated his goal to his family. "I want to thank God and everyone for their dedication and effort in this match," he said. "It takes a lot of hard work. I had this shirt made in tribute to my family, whom I lost not long ago, and that motivated me even more to play and score a goal for my grandfather and grandmother, who are looking after me now."
The Brasileirão U-20 B is a relatively new competition, with this being its second edition. The tournament began in 2025, with Avaí being crowned champions after defeating Vitória 3-1 in the final. This year, promotion to the Brasileirão U-20 A goes not only to the two finalists, but also to the third team with the best overall campaign. Along with Ceará and Goiás, Atlético-MG also won promotion and will play in the Brasileirão U-20 A in 2027.
The Brasileirão U-20 B title is a significant achievement for Goiás, and it will be interesting to see how they perform in the higher division next year.
