Liverpool's Rio Ngumoha has said he's looking to improve his game on the right wing, after making his England debut on the flank in June.
The 17-year-old primarily plays off the left but has been working on his right-sided game, which he believes is key to being unpredictable for his team.
"I'm improving on the right too," Ngumoha said. "Obviously, everyone knows I can play on the left, but on the right I feel like I'm improving and I'm getting better."
With Liverpool in the market for another winger following the departure of Mohamed Salah, Ngumoha's versatility could be a valuable asset for the club.
New boss Andoni Iraola confirmed on Tuesday that Liverpool are looking for another winger, and Ngumoha's development on the right wing could give him an edge in the competition for places.
Ngumoha made 29 appearances for Liverpool last season under Arne Slot, and became the Reds' youngest goalscorer when he netted a last-gasp winner at Newcastle United in August.
He's eager to help the team out with goals and assists, as well as improve his defensive actions.
"I've got to improve in both of them, but also just try to implement myself as a starter sometimes," Ngumoha said. "Coming off the bench as well, because obviously we have so many players – so many top players – and we're all competing for places."
Ngumoha's breakthrough campaign at Anfield has caught the attention of fans and pundits alike, and his development on the right wing could be a major factor in Liverpool's chances this season.
With the new season just around the corner, Ngumoha will be looking to make a strong impression and cement his place in the team.
Liverpool's next friendly match is scheduled for August 5, where Ngumoha will have the chance to put his skills to the test against a top-tier opponent.
