Tyreek Hill’s wife, Lakeeta Vaccaro, testified on Tuesday about multiple instances of verbal and physical abuse throughout their relationship during a civil assault-and-battery trial in Florida. Her testimony came amid reports that Hill, the former NFL star wide receiver, could soon sign with a team, possibly rejoining the Kansas City Chiefs.
Vaccaro, who is also the sister of former NFL safety Kenny Vaccaro, described a series of violent episodes starting in January 2024. She said the abuse began after an argument over a post-nuptial agreement Hill wanted her to sign. When she refused, Hill allegedly threatened divorce, tried to remove her wedding ring, grabbed a necklace off her neck, put his hands around her neck, twisted her breasts, and wrestled her to the bed. She called the incident “terrifying.”
Several other incidents were detailed during the trial, which is part of the couple’s ongoing divorce proceedings. In July 2024, while pregnant, Vaccaro said Hill attacked her and tried to punch her in the stomach, which she blocked. Earlier that year, during a trip to Orlando, Hill allegedly told her he planned to cheat and wanted a divorce. She said he returned to their hotel room the next morning, threw her clothes out of a suitcase, broke her computer, removed her wedding ring, and twisted one of her breasts. Police responded to the call but no charges were filed.
Later in January 2024, Vaccaro testified that after another argument about the post-nuptial agreement, Hill threw her luggage out of their home and physically ejected her. She said he shoved an unlit cigar butt into her mouth. Police were called again.
In May 2024, Hill allegedly kicked her out of the car while they were driving home from an event and threw her shoe out of the vehicle. By November, Vaccaro said Hill yelled at her and spat in her face because she hadn’t prepared a pregame outfit for him. She gave birth the following day.
The abuse continued into 2025. Vaccaro testified that in April, Hill punched her computer, threw it to the ground, cursed at her, and the argument spilled into their daughter’s room while the child was asleep. “I’ve been in this cycle with him for so long, being pregnant and realizing, what am I going to do? How am I going to get myself out of this,” she said. “It got worse and worse and worse. And it got to a point where, now I’m a new mom. I have to think of her. I have to think about what I’m putting myself through.”
Hill, 31, suffered a severe knee injury last season with the Miami Dolphins that involved a dislocated kneecap and multiple torn ligaments. The Dolphins released him in February, and he has been a free agent since, focusing on recovery.
Hill played six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs earlier in his career and helped them win Super Bowl LIV. The Chiefs recently lost wide receivers Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton to injuries in their victory over the Raiders on Sunday.
Hill’s agent told ESPN that the wide receiver may sign with a team in the coming days, with a reunion with the Chiefs a possibility. The NFL is reviewing the allegations under its personal conduct policy, but it is unclear if Hill will face any league discipline should he return to play.
NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy confirmed to ESPN that the matter is “under review of the personal conduct policy.”
