Former Clemson offensive tackle Tristan Leigh was released from the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad on Friday, marking the third time the team has cut him since late August. The Vikings freed the roster spot to bring back veteran linebacker Jihad Ward.
Leigh had rejoined the Vikings’ practice squad on October 6 but did not appear in any regular-season games during this latest stint. His on-and-off presence in Minnesota over the past two months reflects ongoing uncertainty as he tries to secure a more permanent place in the NFL.
Before turning professional, Leigh developed into a steady starter at Clemson. A former five-star recruit, he earned a starting role in 2023 and finished his college career with 2,202 offensive snaps across 42 games. Over five seasons from 2021 to 2025, Leigh made 33 starts, gaining extensive experience on the Tigers’ offensive line.
Despite those credentials, Leigh has yet to translate his college success into regular-season NFL action. His repeated releases and re-signings by the Vikings suggest the team values his potential but has not found a role for him in game day lineups.
Leigh's latest release leaves him searching for another opportunity. Whether with Minnesota or another franchise, he will be aiming for a longer stay and to make his NFL debut.
