Ahead of the game, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel acknowledged the significance of the rivalry and the level of competition they face. “The Third Saturday in October is coming up, and it’s a great opportunity,” Heupel said. “We’re playing a really good football team. You look at how they’re playing three phases of the game and it’s a huge test for us, but it’s one we’re looking forward to. I encourage our fans to take advantage of the half priced happy hour and get hydrated for the football game on Saturday afternoon.”
