The Seattle Seahawks held their seventh public training camp practice at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center (VMAC) in Renton, Washington, on Wednesday, with a non-padded session drawing a full berm of fans despite the warm and hazy conditions due to wildfire smoke.
The practice lasted around 2.5 hours, and Field Gulls staff writers were on-site to capture the action. In a quick reaction video filmed outside The Pro Shop in Renton, they shared their initial takeaways and analysis.
The defense stood out, with a strong performance being noted by Field Gulls. The Sam Darnold-Rashid Shaheed connection also caught attention, as did an interesting name to watch at safety, Nehemiah Pritchett's increased role with the starters, and Rylie Mills' versatility.
The running game, however, is still a work in progress. The Seahawks are rebuilding in this area, and it's clear they have a long way to go.
Field Gulls staff writers will be discussing the training camp in more depth during a live stream from Fast Fashion Brewing in SoDo tonight at 7:30 pm PT. They will be joined by Corbin Smith of Emerald City Spectrum, and a separate post will be coming up for the live stream.
If you attended the training camp, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section.
