The Seahawks came to Nashville for a joint practice with the Titans, but the day was marred by a serious knee injury to wide receiver Jake Bobo.
The Seahawks got their work in against the Titans' starters, with Sam Darnold completing passes to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed, and Elijah Arroyo deep down the field. However, the Titans had their moments against the Seahawks' starters, with Cam Ward leading the charge.
Tennessee's players celebrated their plays like they'd just won the Super Bowl, while the Seahawks jogged back to their huddles and sidelines after theirs. "They may be hungry," Titans coach Simmons said after the practice, "but we're starving."
The Seahawks' day was marked by a serious knee injury to wide receiver Jake Bobo, who was carted off the field. The team will be hoping for a speedy recovery for their injured player.
Ty Okada had a pick-six for the Seahawks, intercepting a short pass outside by Cam Ward and returning it for a touchdown. "It was a really great call," Okada said of coach Mike Macdonald's defensive scheme.
Devon Witherspoon and the Seahawks defensive teammates ran with Okada to celebrate his touchdown. The Titans also had their moments against the Seahawks' starters, with Ward leading the charge.
The Seahawks came to Nashville for the second time in three preseasons to get the starters their most extensive work before the games get real. They did the former; they got the work. Coach Mike Macdonald was happy with the work, if not all the performances. "We got a lot of reps in," he said. The head coach also reiterated the importance of these joint practices in preparing his team for the season ahead.
The Seahawks will now head back to Seattle, where they will continue to prepare for their opening game against the New England Patriots on September 9.
