Roxanne Perez secured a non-title victory over Chelsea Green ahead of Friday’s WWE SmackDown in Ontario, earning a shot at the WWE Women’s Championship in a match that puts two titles on the line. The event, broadcast live on USA Network, features Perez challenging Green for the Women’s Championship, setting up a rare champion-versus-champion showdown between members of Judgment Day ahead of Crown Jewel.
Perez’s win came earlier this week, where she defeated the reigning champion Green without the title at stake. That result guaranteed her a title opportunity, putting the spotlight on the women’s division for a card heavy with championship action. The match is the headline bout of the evening, highlighting a potential shake-up with two Judgment Day wrestlers facing off for gold.
The card also includes a Women’s Tag Team Championship contest. Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley, who recently claimed the tag titles, will defend against Michin and B-Fab. The match carries additional intrigue, as Jade Cargill watches from ringside amid speculation about Charlotte Flair’s return after she was removed from Bliss’s spot as Paxley’s partner two weeks ago.
Another high-stakes encounter pits Giulia against Blake Monroe in a street fight, continuing a rivalry that has spilled over since their first main roster meeting. Monroe’s initial victory did not settle matters, and the no-rules match promises a physical and unpredictable encounter.
Outside the women’s division, The MFTs, Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga, will take on Bakusai, the team of Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki, in a non-title tag match. This bout offers a look at ongoing storylines in the tag team ranks but is not tied to championship gold.
WWE SmackDown’s lineup for Friday, Oct. 23, includes four matches:
- WWE Women’s Championship: Chelsea Green (c) vs. Roxanne Perez
- Women’s Tag Team Championship: Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley (c) vs. Michin & B-Fab
- Street Fight: Giulia vs. Blake Monroe
- The MFTs (Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga) vs. Bakusai (Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki)
The evening’s focus on the women’s division puts multiple titles on the line and promises developments that could impact the landscape ahead of WWE’s Crown Jewel event. The champion-versus-champion scenario between Green and Perez adds an extra layer of intensity, given their Judgment Day connection.
