Maximilian Beier came through Hoffenheim’s academy and developed through a loan at Hannover 96. In 2023/24 he scored 16 Bundesliga goals for Hoffenheim and earned a place in Germany’s Euro 2024 squad.
Borussia Dortmund signed him in 2024. Beier is quick, direct and can play on the wing or as a striker, and he is an intense presser.
Playing style
Beier is a quick, direct forward who can play on either wing or as a striker. He likes to run in behind defences, and his acceleration makes him dangerous on the counter-attack. He is a good finisher and has scored regularly despite often playing wide. He is also an intense presser, chasing down defenders and goalkeepers, which suits Dortmund’s style. His development from Hoffenheim’s academy through a loan at Hannover 96 to the Bundesliga shows his work ethic.
International career
Beier earned his first Germany call-up after his outstanding 2023/24 season at Hoffenheim and was named in the squad for Euro 2024 on home soil.
Career in numbers
Since his first senior season in 2019/20, Beier has made 211 club appearances and scored 54 goals in all competitions for 3 clubs.
