Max Verstappen unveiled a Texas-themed helmet ahead of the United States Grand Prix, featuring a lion wearing a cowboy hat on the top. The four-time Formula 1 champion shared detailed photos of the design on social media, captioning the post "Texas bound. I’ll be coming to Austin with this special helmet!" The lion appears in blue on a white background, keeping the helmet’s usual red, white, and blue color scheme.
The new helmet design quickly attracted attention, with Verstappen’s post amassing over 747,000 likes at the time of writing. Fans responded positively, praising the cowboy hat detail. One wrote, "10s across the board – the lion with the cowboy hat is incredible," while another added, "The lion in the cowboy hat is brilliant haha." Other reactions included comments like "Oh this is gorgeous" and "Simply lovely that helmet."
Alongside the helmet, Verstappen and his Red Bull teammate Isack Hadjar will also sport vintage-style all-white race suits during the race weekend at the Circuit of the Americas. The suits are inspired by older racing aesthetics and have sparked fan speculation about whether Red Bull might run an all-white livery for the Austin event. At this point, no official confirmation on a white car livery has been made by the team.
Verstappen arrives in Austin following back-to-back wins at the Bahrain Grand Prix and the Singapore Grand Prix. He currently sits fourth in the drivers' standings with 221 points, trailing championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 119 points.
While many drivers have a break after a demanding triple-header, Verstappen is also racing in the GT World Challenge Europe finale at Portimao this weekend. He is competing in the Verstappen Racing #3 Mercedes-AMG alongside Chris Lulham and Ben Barnicoat.
The United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas is scheduled from 23 to 25 October. It will kick off another triple-header in the Formula 1 calendar, with the Mexican and Brazilian Grands Prix set to follow in the subsequent two weeks.
