Kyndal Stowers scored 26.5 points in Texas A&M’s 3-0 sweep of Mississippi State on Sunday, breaking the program record for points in a three-set match. The senior’s 21 kills, five service aces, and a block powered the Aggies to a 25-22, 25-21, 28-26 victory at Reed Arena.
Mississippi State led 18-15 in the opening set before Texas A&M rallied with a 10-4 run to seal the frame. Stowers delivered the final kill to clinch the 25-22 win. She remained the focal point of the offense throughout, helping the Aggies secure the second set before battling through a tight third set. The Bulldogs pushed the frame beyond the usual 25 points, but Texas A&M held on to complete the sweep.
This performance added to a record Stowers set earlier this season. In September, she scored 34.5 points against Indiana in a five-set match, setting the program’s rally-scoring-era record for points in a five-set contest. That effort included 29 kills, five blocks, and two aces.
Texas A&M has been riding a strong streak, winning six consecutive matches and sweeping their last four opponents. The Aggies improved to 3-0 in SEC play with Sunday’s win and recorded a season-high eight service aces, with Stowers accounting for five of those.
Last season, Stowers earned AVCA Second-Team All-America and First-Team All-SEC honors. She was also named the Most Outstanding Player during Texas A&M’s national championship run. Entering the 2026 season as the team’s most accomplished returning attacker, Stowers continues to build on her impressive resume.
Texas A&M will play its first SEC road match of the season on Wednesday when it travels to Oklahoma.
