Seahawks Bolster Receiving Corps with New Signing Following Kenny McIntosh Waiver

The Seattle Seahawks have bolstered their receiving corps with the signing of rookie wide receiver Kyre Duplessis, who joined the team after being one of five tryouts listed in the NFL's Wednesday transaction wire.

Duplessis, an undrafted free agent, comes to the Seahawks after spending a brief time with the Detroit Lions this offseason. His most recent stint was with the University of Delaware in 2025, where he caught 60 passes for 824 yards and a team-high five touchdowns.

Seattle is currently dealing with some injuries at wide receiver, with Jake Bobo leaving Monday's practice with an undisclosed leg injury and Irv Charles absent from the last couple of practices after picking up a knock on Sunday.

Duplessis' addition to the team may provide some much-needed depth to the receiving corps, especially with the team's current injury situation. He also has experience returning kicks and punts, having done so in his lone season at Delaware.

The Seahawks' move to sign Duplessis comes after recently waiving Kenny McIntosh, who started training camp on the PUP list after tearing his ACL last year. McIntosh did not have an injury designation when he was waived and passed a physical the same day he was waived, but went unclaimed off waivers and is now a free agent.

It's worth noting that Duplessis' signing is a low-risk move for the Seahawks, as he is an undrafted free agent and has no guaranteed contract with the team. The move allows the Seahawks to add some depth to their receiving corps without committing to a long-term contract.

The Seahawks will now look to integrate Duplessis into their system and see how he fits in with the team's receiving corps. With the team's current injury situation, Duplessis may have an opportunity to make an impact early on.
