Juventus Women claim 3-0 win over BK Häcken with Pinto scoring club’s 100th UWCL goal

Juventus Women secured a 3-0 win on the road against BK Häcken in their UEFA Women’s Champions League match, with Pinto scoring the club’s 100th goal in the competition. The breakthrough came in the 57th minute, setting the tone for a second half where Juventus asserted control and sealed the victory with goals from Stolen Godø and Redondo.

The first half was tightly contested, with both sides creating chances but unable to find the net. Juventus started strongly, pressing into Häcken’s half early on, with Redondo forcing a corner in the third minute and attempting a shot in the 10th. Stolen Godø also tested the Swedish goalkeeper Karlsson with a powerful shot. Häcken gradually grew into the game, enjoying more possession and creating opportunities through Tindell and Anvegård, both coming close to opening the scoring.

Defensively, Juventus remained resilient. Sylla made a timely intervention to stop a dangerous attack around the half-hour mark, while the defence blocked Bodin’s effort and dealt with set-piece threats. Salvai made a crucial stop to prevent a Häcken counter-attack just before halftime, but the score remained 0-0 at the break.

The second half saw Häcken push aggressively from the restart, with Selerud and Tindell testing Juventus’ defence but failing to convert. Juventus broke the deadlock in the 57th minute when Sarriegi delivered a precise ball into the box and Pinto capitalised to score. This goal was significant as it marked Juventus Women’s 100th in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Following Pinto’s goal, Juventus gained confidence and managed possession better, while still fending off Häcken’s attempts to respond. Carbonell came close to doubling the lead in the 65th minute when her cross struck the post.

Juventus extended their lead in the 76th minute with a header from Stolen Godø, assisted by Schatzer’s accurate cross. After a lengthy VAR check, the goal was confirmed. Häcken continued to press forward, but Stolen Godø also played a key defensive role, clearing a close-range attempt in the 81st minute.

Redondo put the result beyond doubt in the 88th minute, calmly finishing one-on-one with Karlsson to make it 3-0. Häcken pressed late on, with Anvegård forcing a save from goalkeeper De Jong and hitting the crossbar in stoppage time, but Juventus maintained their clean sheet and secured the win.

Juventus manager Isaac Guerrero praised his team’s performance, noting the balance between maintaining their style and coping with Häcken’s high-intensity pressing. “The girls did an excellent job of maintaining that balance and, after the break, they managed to find the spaces we had been missing without losing sight of our style of play,” he said. Guerrero also highlighted Pinto’s contribution, describing her as “a very experienced player” who “scores important goals” and provides “continuity to our play.”

The victory in Sweden marks a strong start for Juventus Women’s European campaign, with the team demonstrating both resilience and composure in a demanding match.
