Cincinnati Reds legend Joey Votto will join the NBC Sunday Night Baseball broadcast team for the Reds' game against the Chicago Cubs on August 30.
Votto announced the news on his Twitter account, stating "I'm doing Reds/Cubs next Sunday. Tell me something I didn't need to know about the game." He also added a poll asking fans to suggest a word he could use on air, with options including "who dey" and "bangs".
Votto made his NBC Sunday Night Baseball debut in July, where he discussed his career with Bob Costas. During the broadcast, Costas asked Votto whether he might be underappreciated for playing in Cincinnati without winning a World Series.
Votto has been generating buzz on social media in recent weeks, particularly after appearing on MLB Network's "MLB Now" to discuss his potential future with the Reds.
The Reds-Cubs game on August 30 will be a highly anticipated matchup, with Votto's presence likely to add to the excitement.
