Titans’ J.C. Latham named ambassador supporting 20,000 youth football players in Tennessee

J.C. Latham is taking on a new role off the field as the Youth Football Program ambassador for the Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl, supporting over 20,000 young football players across Tennessee this year. The Tennessee Titans right tackle, entering his third NFL season, was announced earlier this month as the face of the initiative that benefits youth leagues with critical funding and resources.

Scott Ramsey, president and CEO of the Music City Bowl, said the organization was “honored to welcome Titans tackle and former Alabama star, J.C. Latham,” praising his dedication to “strength and excellence on and off the field.” Ramsey added that this commitment fits well with the Youth Football Program’s work in the community and expressed excitement about the partnership.

Founded in 2003, the Youth Football Program has since supported more than 50 leagues in the region and donated over $250,000 toward youth football projects. The program helps local leagues cover essential needs such as equipment purchases, uniform replacements, facility upkeep, and the costs of game officials. It also funds new programs each year to ensure young athletes have access to safe and well-rounded football experiences.

As the program’s ambassador, Latham will visit youth football teams throughout Tennessee, promote the sport, and inspire young players. This year’s initiative includes 19 leagues and 407 teams, with around $40,000 in donations and 25,000 mouthguards distributed to participants.

“I am honored to serve as this year’s Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl Youth Football Program Ambassador,” Latham said. “Youth football played such a crucial role in my journey, helping shape me not only as a football player but also as a person. I’m excited for the opportunity to give back to the game that has given me so much and to pour my energy and passion into inspiring and supporting the next generation of student-athletes.”

Latham’s involvement with the Titans community efforts goes beyond this role. Since joining the team in 2024, he has participated in providing holiday meals to families during Thanksgiving and taken part in celebrity baseball games. His focus on youth football reflects how important the sport has been in shaping his development both on and off the field.

The Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl is held annually at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on December 30. Since its inception in 1998, it has contributed to the city’s economy and sporting culture, especially during traditionally slower business periods. The Youth Football Program continues to grow alongside the bowl, expanding its reach and resources each year.

This year’s program supports more than 20,000 young athletes across Tennessee, with 19 active leagues and 407 youth teams enrolled. The donations include about $40,000 in financial support and 25,000 mouthguards, helping to maintain safety and opportunity for the players.

The announcement of Latham’s ambassadorship comes as the Titans prepare to face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6 of the NFL season.
