Jakob Butturff, a dominant force on the PBA Tour, has died at the age of 32.
The Professional Bowlers Association announced the sudden passing of Jakob Butturff on Friday, July 31, with no cause of death announced.
PBA Commissioner Tom Clark paid tribute to the late champion, describing him as "one of the most unique players in PBA history" who "rode a wave of strikes into becoming a top player in the sport, capable of winning at any time, in any event." Clark also noted that Butturff was "kind, he was respectful, and he was a champion."
Butturff's impressive career included eight PBA Tour titles, including a major win at the 2019 USBC Masters. He also claimed 27 PBA Regional Tour titles and was a 7-time member of Team USA.

Butturff was born and raised in Las Vegas, and also lived in Phoenix, Arizona and Binghamton, New York. His achievements on the bowling circuit earned him a reputation as a formidable opponent.
