The Iowa football team's highly anticipated matchup against Iowa State on September 12 at Kinnick Stadium has officially sold out, the university's athletics department announced on Thursday.
Single-game tickets for the game, which will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT and be televised on NBC, went on sale to donors on Monday and then to the general public on Thursday morning. The sellout marks the third time the rivalry clash in Iowa City will be contested in primetime, following previous evening games in 2002 and 2016.
The Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series matchup is always a highly anticipated event, and this season's game is no exception. Iowa's Twitter account, @HawkeyeFootball, tweeted about the sellout, saying "Kinnick under the lights. Our game vs Iowa State is officially sold out!"
The sellout extends Iowa's streak of consecutive sellouts at Kinnick Stadium to 28 games, dating back to the start of the 2022 season.
While the Iowa State game is sold out, there are still tickets available for several of Iowa's other home games this season. Approximately 1,750 tickets remain for the season opener against Northern Illinois on September 5, while 400 tickets are available for the game against UNI on September 19.
There are also tickets available for Iowa's games against Ohio State (750 tickets), Wisconsin (2,500 tickets), Purdue (5,000 tickets), and Nebraska (2,500 tickets).
The Iowa football team will look to continue its winning ways at Kinnick Stadium when they take on Northern Illinois in the season opener on September 5.
