Butch Huskey, a former Major League Baseball player who spent five seasons with the New York Mets, has died at an age not specified.
We are saddened to learn about the passing of former Met Butch Huskey, the team wrote on its official Twitter/X account on Aug. 14.
A native of Oklahoma, Huskey was drafted by the Mets in the seventh round out of high school in 1989. He debuted four years later and went on to play for several other teams, including the Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, Minnesota Twins, and Colorado Rockies.
Huskey played a total of seven seasons in the major leagues, slashing .267/.418/.442 with 86 home runs and 336 RBIs during his time with the Mets.
