Manchester Super Giants' unbeaten start to The Hundred came to an end as Sunrisers Leeds thrashed them by eight wickets at Headingley. The Super Giants were bowled out for 181-3 in 100 balls, with Jos Buttler top-scoring with an unbeaten 63 off 33 balls.
The Super Giants' total was built around Buttler's blistering innings, with Heinrich Klaasen contributing 53 off 27 balls. Nathan Ellis was the pick of the Sunrisers' bowlers, taking 2-32.
Sunrisers Leeds then chased down the target with ease, with Mitch Marsh scoring 63 off 26 balls to set the tone for the innings. Marsh was eventually bowled by a yorker from Sonny Baker with the score on 118.
The momentum from Marsh's innings was continued by England duo Zak Crawley and Harry Brook. Crawley blitzed an unbeaten 56 off 34 balls, notching only his second half-century of the summer.
Brook chipped in with 42 not out from 17 balls, dealing in sixes against the Super Giants. His six boundaries all cleared the ropes, including the winning runs off Noor Ahmad with 12 balls to spare.
The Sunrisers have now won two of their opening matches in The Hundred, joining the Super Giants, Welsh Fire, and MI London on eight points.
The Hundred continues on Wednesday with double-headers in Cardiff and London. The Sunrisers will be looking to build on their positive start to the campaign when they take on the Welsh Fire in their next match.
