Christian Moore and Bryce Teodosio lift Angels to 6-4 win over Mariners

Christian Moore’s two-run double in the sixth inning turned the tide as the Los Angeles Angels edged the Seattle Mariners 6-4 on Thursday night. Moore finished with three RBIs, while Bryce Teodosio contributed two runs batted in, helping the Angels secure the victory in Seattle.

The Angels struck first when Moore’s RBI single in the second inning put them ahead 1-0. Seattle responded with a two-run homer from Julio Rodríguez in their half of the inning, followed by an RBI single from Leo Rivas to push the Mariners’ lead to 3-1. Los Angeles chipped away in the fifth when Teodosio’s groundout brought home a run, narrowing the gap to 3-2 before Zach Neto tied the game with an RBI that same inning.

Moore’s double in the sixth brought in two more runs, putting the Angels ahead 5-4. Teodosio added an insurance run with an RBI single in the eighth. The Mariners managed a final run on a wild pitch by Los Angeles, scored by J.P. Crawford.

On the mound, Angels starter Bryan Woo gave up five runs on seven hits over five and a third innings, striking out eight. Seattle’s Grayson Rodriguez, making his last start of the season, allowed four runs on five hits over five innings, ending with a 4.45 ERA and 49 strikeouts across his last ten starts. Ryan Watson closed the game with a hitless ninth inning, earning his fourth save of the year after Sammy Peralta held the Mariners scoreless through three innings of relief.

The victory puts the Angels ahead in the series as they prepare for game two on Friday. Los Angeles will send left-hander Reid Detmers (6-8, 3.47 ERA) to the mound against Seattle’s right-hander Bryce Miller (4-9, 3.99 ERA).
