Chelsea Name 26-Man Squad for Preseason Tour
Chelsea have confirmed their 26-man squad for the upcoming preseason tour, with the team set to embark on a series of friendlies in Southeast Asia and Australia.
The squad, which includes a mix of first-teamers, youth players, and players who might be heading out on loan before the summer's over, has been trimmed to 26 after the addition of youngster Calvin Diakite. The squad will be without Geovany Quenda, who is recovering from a minor fitness injury, and Emmanuel Emegha, who has a hamstring issue.
Chelsea will start their tour against Western Sydney Wanderers in Sydney, Australia on July 28, followed by matches against Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus, AC Milan, and JDT in Sydney, Hong Kong, Jakarta, and Iskandar Puteri, Malaysia respectively. The team will also play a sixth friendly against Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge on August 15.
Among the notable names not traveling due to possible transfers are Trevoh Chalobah, Axel Disasi, and Benoit Badiashile. Nicolas Jackson, however, is expected to join the team.
Goalkeepers Filip Jörgensen, Robert Sánchez, Ted Curd, and Teddy Sharman-Lowe will be joined by a defense lineup featuring Josh Acheampong, Tosin Adarabioyo, Aarón Anselmino, Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Jorrel Hato, Marco Palestra, Mamadou Sarr, Tayo Suboloye, and Calvin Diakite.
The midfield will be spearheaded by Landon Emenalo, Dário Essugo, Roméo Lavia, Madhi Nicoll-Jazuli, Reggie Walsh, and Reggie Watson, while the forwards will be comprised of Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, Ryan Kavuma-McQueen, Omari Kellyman, Cole Palmer, João Pedro, Dastan Satpaev, and Estêvão.
